Hi,
Just updated my DS708 to V6.17 along with all the manufacturers diagnostic software - now my machine will not connect "link error" to any car.
Anyone else experienced this?
What is the 'fix'?

I've emailed Autel europe - waiting to hear from them.

 I have updated with the original 4gb class 4 SD card, and subsequently with an 8gb class 6 SD card.
Both formatted (FAT32 if I recall correctly) and subsequently updated direct from the Autel site.

As a side note, the DS starts and navigates much more quickly and smoothly with the higher class rating - i will definitely invest in a class 10 once i have sorted this link error issue.

The DS starts, runs, connects wirelessly to internet, connects wired LAN to the internet and starts all of the manufacturers software seamlessly  -- but it does NOT 'see' any vehicle on the end of the cable.

 Yes, I'll try formatting and I'll leave the SD card in the DS to update (as opposed to in the card reader in the PC)
I'm looking for a replacement cable just to rule that out - I don't really suspect it, as it was working immediately prior to the software change.

 
I don't know what i did differently, but this is it, step by step.

-log into auteltech.com with your registered username and password.
-download pc suite v6.16   (NOT v6.17)
-place SD card in card reader, place card reader in PC USB slot.
-install V6.16 to SD card.
-place SD card in DS708
-plug  DS708 into mains 12v adapter.
-plug DS708 into a LAN line (internet connection)
-switch on, and after initialisation choose UPDATE.
-choose V6.16 to install (NOT V6.17) and install it.
-follow on screen instructions.

My DS now works at this point. I've tried Ford, Renault and OBDii software on a couple of vehicles.


Next part of installation is as follows:-
-choose UPDATE again, but this time choose V6.17
-install V6.17
-choose UPDATE again, then all the subsequent Marques software that it lists.
